Our company is built on cooperation. Polar Design's global team of 25 designers, developers and managers hails from numerous countries in North America, Europe and Asia. Our project managers oversee quality and project integration; they add value to our clients' projects through their marketing and corporate strategy experience, as well as their own technical skills and design know-how.

Principals

Mark J. Jaklovsky, Managing Director and President

Oversees corporate strategy for Polar Design and review day to day operations in its offices in North America and Europe. Mark co-founded Polar Design in 1999 with Jean Sommier Jr., and has managed a wide range range of financial, marketing, legal and strategic challenges as the company has grown. Prior to that, Mark advised leading Fortune 500 companies in the aerospace and telecommunications industry on business strategy and new business opportunities at the Dealy Strategy Group, a Washington, D.C. based consulting firm.

Mark is a graduate of the Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and Phillips Andover Academy.

Dimitry Chernyshov, Managing Director, Technology Group

Responsible for conceiving and developing Polar Design's unique software products, as well as leading software design efforts of complex or challenging programs. Dimitry's expertise range widely between Microsoft and UNIX technologies, and he further brings LAN and communications network management experience. His past positions include Technical Director and Lead Designer for Digital Internet Publishing (D.i.P.) since 1999, a Moscow-based web site software development house, and lead software developer in a number of other firms prior to that.

Dimitry is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

Robert Molnar, Managing Director, Multimedia Group

Manages Polar Design's multimedia and graphics design group and participates in high-level support of our European and North American clients. Robert's primary responsibility is managing art direction and multimedia project workflow for our leading clients, mentoring new artists who join our group, and participating in brand, image and technical strategy consulting. Prior to Polar Design, Robert was the sole proprietor and Managing Director of META, a Slovak web site graphics design and e-commerce development company.

Robert attended the Economics University of Bratislava, Slovakia prior to founding META.

Jean Sommier, Jr., Senior Director, Marketing

Responsible for evolving Polar Design's internal processes, conceiving technology needed to boost efficiency of Polar Design's globally distributed teams, and developing critical client relationships. Jean has managed over a dozen software development and multimedia projects since founding Polar Design in 1999 with Mark J. Jaklovsky and combines a rich background of management, art direction and software design experience. Jean previously worked as an Analyst at Analysis Group/Economics, a Cambridge, Massachusetts based litigation research and economics analysis consultancy.

Jean is a graduate of Brandeis University and Phillips Andover Academy.

Jolana Jaklovsky, Chief Financial Officer

Manages the financial strategy of Polar Design, as well as financial planning and budgets for each of Polar Design's three international subsidiaries. Jolana co-founded IMS, Inc. with Jozef Jaklovsky in 1986 and continues to manage finances for IMS LLC, Polar Design's parent company, as well as trade and international marketing projects on behalf of IMS' clients.

Jozef Jaklovsky, Senior Advisor

President and Managing partner of IMS LLC, Polar Designs' parent company, Jozef advises Polar Design on a number of marketing issues as part of our comprehensive marketing packages offered jointly with our parent company, IMS LLC. Jozef's background includes over 30 years in engineering, scientific research, and management for leading US corporations such as Alcoa and DuPont. Jozef led IMS, Inc., the predecessor of IMS LLC between 1986 and 2001, and continues to lead IMS' international trade and marketing activities.
