HitFusion.com : Image Redesign
Originally named "Go2Millenium.com", this consultant in the field of healthcare information technology of medical analyzer
equipment approached Polar Design for basic redesign of their web site's graphics
and interface. Polar Design's creative staff immediately noted the cumbersome
alliteration and limited branding potential of the company name and guided the
company to revisit its branding, including the name, prior to investing in its
online presence. The resulting name, HitFusion, developed internally by the company
suggests excitement, relevance and the range of product offered, as well as
incorporate the acronym of their industry in the first part of the name:
"Healthcare Information Technology" (HIT).
Polar Design's challenge was to create
a logo and design that invoked excitement while remaining professional and relevant
to the company’s products. The design team conceived of a series of logos ranging
from simple font variations to renditions of medical symbols. We presented a focused
range of blue and yellow tones, both metaphorically related to health and energy.
Following a series of internal logo mock-ups and client review stages, Polar Design
finalized a concept incorporating a stark blue and black gradient in the logo with
a touch of yellow and an additional "orbit" below the company name to
convey the concept of fusion.
Polar Design then extended this
branding to the website and created an energetic yet professional look-and-feel
through use of a sleek top-bar layout combining simple navigation and photo collages
with edgy blacklining in the main top-bar design above a faded, blue-filtered photo
in the background. Finally, to improve page navigation and add additional flair,
Polar Design incorporated DHTML pop-up menus, providing one-click access to all site
sub-pages.
The final result is an attractive and
highly function website making effective use of design, DHTML menus and well-planned
extension of the logo into the color, photo and design selection.
