Interactive Project Manager

Location: Boston Metro Area Office (Woburn, MA)

Total Compensation: 
$48k - $77k (base + performance bonus)

Description of the Position:

This is a full-time mid-level project management position (2 - 5 years experience) in managing the accounts of clients that turn to Polar Design for their interactive design and marketing projects. The position is fast paced and demanding - given the importance and complexity of Polar's projects, the selected candidate can expect to grow tremendously in their knowledge of marketing, design, web technologies, and online marketing. Additionally, as a rapidly growing company, this position offers substantial opportunities for professional growth as we continue to expand.

Responsibilities include managing all aspects of client relationships as well as individual projects:

- initial kick-off and consulting
- assembling a project team
- participating in concept development
- drafting of project specifications, design and requirements documents
- developing interface wireframes
- developing system flow charts and in limited cases UML diagrams
- handling client requests and coordinating those with the project team based on a deep understanding of Polar's processes, client contracts, and project requirements
- scheduling milestones (e.g., reviews) with clients and the project team
- participating in quality assurance
- post-project support for hosting control panels, content management software, etc.
- managing content migration by staff / interns for client web sites or brochures
- managing client relationships
- proactively assist in troubleshooting both client and internal issues when they arise
- assist senior management in improving project and company process development

You will coordinate varied project teams that might include a senior consultant, sales manager, designer, developer, copywriters, freelance artists and developers, based both in the United States and abroad. Additional responsibilities may include business development and solutions consulting, depending on your level of familiarity and expertise with interactive technologies and sales.

Candidates should be highly motivated, enjoy working with a wide range of clients (and people), and understand the interactive project lifecycle and corresponding processes.


Benefits and Salary Range:

Starting Base Salary: $48,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Health care coverage, 401K/IRA, performance bonuses after initial training.


Minimum requirements:

1. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited 4 year university program
2. 2+ years project management / account management experience in web design and sofware development, graphic design, print design, software development, or search engine marketing
3. Familiarity with web design technologies: Photoshop, HTML, CSS, PHP, content management solutions, e-commerce solutions
4. Familiarity with Visio or other modeling and flow charting software
5. Experience in implement medium sized, process driven fixed price projects where requirements gathering, documentation and client management are key to project profitability
6. Strong writing and communication skills
7. Experience with branding, art direction, or creative concept development in a group environment
8. Ability to work with minimal supervision, to find answer to questions that you don’t know
9. Able and ready to work overtime if needed

Ideal candidates may also possess:

1. Exposure to project management tools / approaches
2. Understanding of object oriented programming principles
3. Understanding of relational database design principles
4. Understanding of UML modeling
