Operations Associate (Bookkeeper / Assistant)

Description of Position:

The Operations Associate position is an entry to mid-level bookkeeping, customer service and administrative support position with some support of our agency’s interactive marketing projects as well. The position is structured as part time  averaging 20 hours per week and can lead to a full time position with strong performance.

Your primary duties will involve bookkeeping in Quickbooks such as generating invoices, entering bills, entering payroll, and assisting in collections. After additional training, we may also have you assist with monthly bank statement reconciliations, develop budgets, generate and keep critical financial reports up to date.

The position also involves customer service support for our hosting and interactive marketing clients’ financial questions, as well as bookkeeping and customer service support for three joint ventures that we are involved in. Finally, the position may involve assisting senior managers in hiring and other human resource activities, estimating / proposal preparation, and other administrative functions, as well as assisting account managers with some social media work and testing of web sites.

Who Should Apply:

We are seeking an individual with a background in bookkeeping and accounting, but with aptitude and interest in all aspects of business.  The position provides candidates interested in a career with financial or operations management of marketing, advertising or software development agencies with an excellent intro to hands-on work as well as higher level issues related to strategy and financial management.

Requirements:

Candidates should have:

1. A bachelors or associates degree
2. A basic knowledge of accounting
3. Bookkeeping experience through work or extra-curricular activities
4. Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks
5. Occasionally available outside of regular business hours
6. Self-starter and motivated
7. Quick learner and fast worker
8. Motivated to advance in your career
