Description of Interactive Designer Position:
This is an initially a part-time (30 – 35 hours) interactive web design position with the potential to lead to a full-time position. Principal duties include web site graphic design, logo and print design, as well as basic web coding. Candidates should have experience in all of these specialties, be passionate about their work, and have a portfolio that demonstrates their experience. Professional experience is preferred, but a strong portfolio and internships are also acceptable.
Responsibilities include designing client web sites and print materials, corporate identity development, logo design, HTML coding, some Flash design and HTML5, as well as participating with other members of a project team in creative development (e.g., brainstorming ad concepts or marketing approaches, developing wireframes and site maps for design documents, and so forth).
Candidates should love all stages of creative process, from concept development to design and implementation, while seeking to learn more about how agencies like Polar plan and execute today’s increasingly larger and technically complex web sites.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited 4 year university program
- Demonstrated creative ability and skills (e.g., through a portfolio of work or samples that show strong concept development, storyboarding, and so forth)
- Mastery of Adobe Photoshop
- Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience with Adobe Flash and ActionScript
- Interested and motivated in meeting personal and company goals
- Love of learning, and ability to work with minimal supervision or training
- Permission to work in the US
- Strong writing and communication skills
